Client testimonial:
""I'm very excited about the impact our new solar system will have on our sustainability goals.
It’s projected to cover around 19% of our top yard’s electricity needs, peaking at up to 36% in July, which translates to an annual savings of approximately £20,000 and a reduction of 19 tons of CO2 emissions.
By generating our own power, we’re decreasing our reliance on grid electricity, which includes carbon-emitting sources like gas and biomass, and moving closer to a sustainable future."
Frequently asked questions
You’ve got questions. Here are the answers to help you understand how Solar for All could work for your business.
Do I need to pay anything upfront?
No. Solar for All is fully funded; you don’t pay for installation or maintenance. You pay a fixed rate for the energy the system generates.
Who is this suited for?
Any business with a roof over 1,800 square feet / 200 metre squared plus usage over 40,000 kwh could be a candidate for Solar for All. Roofs also need to be free from asbestos and unfortunately we can't install the panels on felt roofs.
How do I measure my roof area?
Open Google Maps
Right click on one corner of your roof and select ‘measure distance’
Click around the outline of the roof until the shape is complete
At the bottom, you’ll see the ‘Total area’
What is a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and how does it work?
A PPA is the model behind Solar for All. Instead of buying or financing a solar system yourself, our partner funds, installs and maintains it on your roof. Your business then buys the electricity it generates at a fixed price, usually lower than your current grid rate. That means no upfront costs, no maintenance responsibilities, and price certainty for the solar you use.
Do I need the building owner's permission?
Yes, if you lease or rent the property, you’ll need consent from the building owner before a system can be installed.
How long is the contract, and what happens at the end?
Contracts typically run between 5 and 25 years with a fixed solar rate throughout. At the end you can continue on the same terms, remove the system, or buy it at a reduced cost based on its age.
What if we move premises or sell the building?
The agreement can transfer to the new owner or occupant, or you can choose to buy the system outright.
What about maintenance and downtime, will we lose power?
The system is monitored and maintained for you. If it ever goes offline, your site automatically continues to receive electricity from the grid.
Can we include battery storage or EV charging?
Yes, batteries and EV charging can be added where they fit your site’s needs.
How will we be billed for solar energy?
A dedicated meter tracks your solar usage. You’ll receive a monthly bill for the solar energy at the agreed fixed rate, while your existing supplier continues billing you for any grid electricity you still use.
Can we leave early or buy the system instead?
You can buy the system outright at any time, or exit early through a fair value buyout.
